Kathmandu, New Delhi announce Modi’s visit

The Indian PM will be accorded a ceremonial welcome at Tundhikhel in Kathmandu on May 11, according to a statement. The visiting dignitary will also inspect a guard of honour.
Modi will pay calls on President Bidya Devi Bhandari and Vice President Nanda Bahadur Pun. PM Oli and his Indian counterpart will hold official talks on Friday, the Nepali side stated.Modi will also visit Janakpur and Muktinath. He will attend civic receptions in Kathmandu and Janakpur.
Annapurna route shut for 3 days
Besisahar: Annapurna trekking route will remain closed for three days, from May 10 to 12, to trekkers and tourists, authorities said on Friday.
They cited security reasons for the shutdown ahead of Indian Prime Minister Modi’s visit to Mustang on May 11.
The District Administration Office, Manang, said tourists travelling to Muktinath from Manang use the route and cross over the Thorang-La pass to reach Mustang. Authorities said they would close the trekking route from Manang side from May 10 to 12 at the request of the Mustang DAO.
The Annapurna Conser-vation Area Project has been directed to prohibit tourists travelling to Thorang-La pass from Manang. (RSS)
