Speaking with representatives from Consumers’ Right Investigation Forum on Sunday, Minister Thapa said that the government will not turn back from the move pointing out that prior governments failed when they tried to break the syndicate system.
“We went ahead with this move not because of necessity but because of compulsion. We had tried earlier as well but we failed,” said Minister Thapa, “Now, we should not turn back from this decision and we don’t have the luxury to do so.”
Minister Thapa further said that an environment for government to move ahead boldly has been created and the government is trying to fulfill the people’s mandate and order with sincerity. The nation wants development and prosperity and syndicate system must end for that to happen, said the Home Minister.
Likewise, the Home Minister further said that ending the transport syndicate was just the beginning and the government working to end syndicates in all other sectors.
