- Best camera smartphones in the Nepali market for under Rs 30,000
May 15, 2018-According to Info Trends, around one trillion digital photos were taken in 2017, 85 percent of which were taken using smartphone cameras. This gives us clear insight into just how popular smartphones have become. Thanks to their ever improving camera features and portability, smartphones have totally overshadowed cumbersome DSLR cameras in terms of being the preferred photo taking device.
Samsung Galaxy j7 Duo
Samsung Galaxy J7 Duo is the latest mid-range smartphone in Samsung’s lineup. The smartphone is also the first ever mid-range Samsung phone that possesses a dual camera. The dual camera can be found at the back and is a combination of 13MP and 5MP sensors. The lenses of both the cameras possess a wide f/1.9 aperture.
Of the two cameras at the back, the primary or the 13MP sensor captures the subject and the details in the frame while the secondary camera of 5MP picks up the depth information between the subject and the background. When the information from both the sensors is merged, an excellent Bokeh effect can be added to the photo. Essentially, the Bokeh effect highlights the subject in focus and blurs out the background. Bokeh effect, which is also known as the portrait shot, is labeled as Live Focus mode in the camera UI. As images tend to look more appealing with this effect added to them, dual camera smartphones have become the top trend in today’s selfie-obsessed market.
The Live Focus Mode on the smartphone also has a rare feature, which lets the users adjust the focus and blur the intensity even after taking the photo. With this feature, users can adjust the blur and the portion to blur by making some easy tweaks until the photo looks natural and appealing.
Up front, there is an 8MP camera dedicated to taking selfies. The front camera also comes with a wide f/1.9 aperture. The selfie shooter packs substantial details and replicates natural coloUrs into the images. In addition, despite only having a single camera, the selfie shooter is also capable of taking selfies with the Bokeh effect.
Huawei Y9 2018
Huawei Y9 2018, also known as the Huawei Nova 2i Lite, is the toned down version of the Huawei Nova 2i. The smartphone comes with a quad camera setup boasting two cameras at the back and another two up front. Huawei Y9 is the only the second smartphone possessing this rare feature: the first being the Huawei Nova 2i.
The dual camera setup is a pairing of 16MP and 2MP sensors. The primary 16MP sensor collects the main attributes of the subject like detail, colour, and light. The secondary 2MP picks up the depth information of the subject and the surrounding which helps to distinguish the subject from the background. The information from both the sensors are then combined into a great image.
Just like at the back, two cameras can be found on the top bezel primarily for taking selfies with blurred backgrounds. The dual selfie camera is a combination of 13MP and 2MP sensors. There are also plenty of features for modifying your selfies. This feature could be useful to users who dislike editing images after taking them and prefer a real-time adjustments on their images.
Vivo V9 Youth
Boasting an iPhone X like design with a notch on the top, Vivo V9 Youth promises to deliver great images with its cameras. And it has a 16MP camera on the top notch up front. The selfie camera comes with AI capabilities which enables it to recognise the user’s face while taking selfies and beautify those images in a way that looks natural. The selfie camera also recognises the gender of the subject in focus and it automatically adjusts the face and skin tones in such a way that suits the user. In addition, the front camera comes with features like portrait mode, gender and face detection along with AR stickers.
There is a dual camera setup at the back, which is a combination of 16MP 2MP cameras. With this dual camera combo, users can easily take some portrait shots with blurred backgrounds. The intensity of blurs and the focus can be readjusted even after taking the images. The edge detection is pretty impressive on this phone and the Bokeh effect on the images from this handset closely resembles photos taken from a DSLR. Normally the image quality is outstanding on this phone. V9 Youth captures images with remarkable colour accuracy and abundant details. The autofocus is fast and accurate and the shutter speed is also really snappy.
Xiaomi MI A1
MI A1 is Xiaomi’s first smartphone under the Android One project. The handset not only pleases users with the smooth OS but also with its amazing camera features. It possesses a dual camera setup at the back, which is a combination of two 12MP cameras. Unlike other smartphones in the list, the secondary camera on MI A1 doesn’t just gathers the depth information but also helps the users take images with 2x zooming. This is such a rare feature at this price segment since the 2x optical zooming feature is mostly present only in flagship devices like Samsung Galaxy Note 8, iPhone X, Oneplus 5/5T, etc.
For selfies and video calls, the camera is equipped with a 5MP selfie shooter on the top bezel. As compared to other smartphones on the list, the selfie camera is poor in terms of megapixel count. Nonetheless, the smartphone is very capable of taking social media-ready selfies.
