Diplo and MØ collaborate with Laure, Bipul Chhetri
May 18, 2018-American DJ and producer Diplo and his long term collaborator Danish singer-songwriter MØ are for the first time collaborating with much loved musicians of Nepali origin—Laure and Bipul Chhetri, for Tuborg Open—a musical campaign that aims to bring musical influences from across the world together.
The global pairing of Diplo and MØ have created a track, called ‘Stay Open’, with artists from around the world invited to rewrite the verses to tell story of what being ‘Open to More’ means to them. The song with one global message tries to incorporate the beauty of diversity in culture and language through the collaborations.
Collaborators include Ivan Dorn from Russia, Levante from Italy and Vishal Dadlani from India, among others.
“Now in its second year, Tuborg OPEN is once again bringing together a group of incredible musicians to create something truly special,” say the organisers.
Speaking about this year’s campaign, Diplo said: “To be part of Tuborg Open for the second year is really cool. This year Tuborg came to us with the idea of being ‘Open to More’ and MØ and I were already working on ‘Stay Open,’ a track about how so many times people are closed but it’s important to stay open to new people and experiences.
“Artists from around the world are already coming to us with ideas of how they want to change it up and add their own perspective to the idea of staying open which is the really cool bit of the project.”
Equally excited about the collaboration, MØ said, “For me, the journey you go on to get to the finished product is often the best bit. By being open to new influences, you mix together things that you think will never fit but sometimes, it really works well.”
“I feel fortunate and excited to be a part of this Tuborg Open international collaboration with Diplo, MØ and Bipul,” said Laure, adding, “Through this campaign, Bipul and I have come together to create something new.”
Bipul echoed, “Music for me is all about Being Open without which we cannot create art. For me this collaboration is all about expanding the element of creativity through music.”
The global track was released last week, the local track releases will follow in June. The campaign will culminate in a live gig featuring Diplo and MØ as well as some of the local artists, later in the year.
