Lamichhane is the first Nepali cricketer to feature in Indian Premier League (IPL) after Delhi Daredevils picked up the leg-spinner in the IPL auction in Bengaluru in December last year.
Lamichhane, who ended his dream debut season in the IPL on a high note by picking up five wickets in last three matches against Chennai Super Kings and defending champions Mumbai Indians, reached his home district Chitwan on Friday.
Taking to journalists at the Bharatpur Airport today, Lamichhane said that he came to Chitwan to spend quality time with his parents.
Lamichhane’s parents live in Chitrasari of Chitwan district. Lamichhane is originally from Syangja district.
He said that he is planning to meet his will wishers in his next visit to the district.
Lammichhane took an initial training in the training organised by the Chitwan Cricket Academy in Campachaur.
“I recalled the training of that academy of Chitwan while I was playing the IPL,” he said, adding, “My incredible cricket journey had begun from the same academy.”
“IPL is an important opportunity. We seldom get this kind of opportunity. We have to utilise when we get this kind of opportunity and I did the same. I will spend all my experiences for the country because country always comes first,” Lamichhane said.
