The areas around Thapathali was cleaned up with collection of five tonnes of waste.
Over 375 people from various organisations, including the High Powered Bagmati Civilization Integrated Development Committee, Nepal Army, Nepal Police, Armed Police Force, Nyano Sparsha, Muktinath Development Bank and Reiyukai Nepal participated in the cleaning works, according a participant Mala Kharel.
Nepal’s Ambassador to China and former chief secretary Leelamani Poudyal had also participated in the event.
Under the 225th week of the Cleanliness Campaign, Syalmati of Tarebhir in Gokarneshwor Municipality-3—the area upstream of Guheshwori—was cleaned on Saturday with the participations of Gokarneshwor Municipality-3 Ward Chairman Rajendra Bhandari, committee Chair Narendra Raj Basnet and project chief Asish Ghimire.
Cleaning works were carried out on Saturday in the areas around Rudramti River, Siddheshwor in Tokha Municipality, Manohara River between Sinamangal and Tinkune, Aloknagar area in Kathmandu Metropolis-31 and Syuchatar to Bafalchowk.
