Police have arrested three persons on charges of possession and distribution of opium from Ghorahi, Dang on Sunday.

A police team from District Police Office, Dang and Province 5 police investigation team, after receiving information of the illicit trade of the contraband, arrested the three individuals along with 5kg opium.

District Police Office DSP Ram Prasad Gharti informed that Shaktiram Woli, 31, of Pachabang-7, Rolpa currentlyresiding in Ghorahi-12, Elan Kumar Roka, 27, of Bhume Rural Municipality-8, Rukum and Dev Bahadur Oli, 28, of Bhume-6 were arrested during the operation.

The opium was hidden inside a bag that Shaktiram was carrying, informed police.
