Five people including journalists were injured when the engine of a dozer accidentally turned on while Mayor of Pokhara Lekhnath Metropolitan City Man Bahadur GC was inaugurating the foot trail on the bank of Phirkekhola in Pokhara on Friday.

According to police, journalists Ranjan Adhikari Chhetri and Sandesh Shrestha and Gauri Poudel, a local resident, among five were injured in the incident.

The incident occurred when the journalists, who were standing near the railing on the roadside to cover the event, was pushed by the bucket of the dozer after the mayor who was behind the wheel of the bulldozer accidently pushed the lever.

The dozer was brought to remove illegal settlements near the banks of Firkekhola to make foot trail.

Poudel is receiving medical treatment at Metro City Hospital and others have returned home after receiving treatment.
