Speaker set to form PHSC

“With the Nepali Congress providing all three names for the PHSC, the Speaker is preparing to form the committee,” said sources at the Parliament Secretariat.
The PHSC will have 15 members, seven from the Nepal Communist Party (NCP), three from the NC and one each from the Rastriya Janata Party-Nepal and the Sanghiya Samajbadi Forum-Nepal. The National Assembly will pick three members.
Meanwhile, the 17-member Business Advisory Committee (BAC) of Parliament was formed under Speaker Mahara on Wednesday.
The Deputy Speaker will be the vice-chair of the committee and the law minister ex-officio member. BAC members include Dev Prasad Gurung, Jayapuri Gharti, Khagaraj Adhikary, Pabitra Niroula Kharel, Bhanubhakta Dhakal, Rameswor Raya Yadav, Shanta Chaudhary and Rekha Sharma from NCP; Dilendra Prasad Badu, Bal Krishna Khand, Pushpa Bhusal Gautam and Parbata DC Chaudhary from the NC; Rajkishor Yadav from the RJP-N and Uma Shankar Argariya from the SSF-N.
