A writ petition has been filed at the Supreme Court on Thursday demanding the quashing of government decision to ban protests at Maitighar Mandala.
Senior advocate Dinesh Tripathi filed the writ petition at the apex court making the Council of Ministers, Home Ministry and District Administration Office as the defendants.
The writ has demanded that the SC quash the government decision as it obstructs the fundamental rights of citizens to peacefully assembly and disseminate their views.
Likewise, the writ petition also states that the government twisted the definition of the Local Administration Act to curtail the freedom of expression in a authoritarian manner.
