Chabilal Poudel, an accused in the 2004 murder of Krishna Prasad Adhikari of Fujel, Gorkha, has been sent to jail on Sunday.

Poudel surrendered himself at the Supreme Court today and soon after he was sent to Dillibazar Prison.

The Chitwan District Court on April 17, 2014 had issued an order to release Poudel on bail.

However, the apex court on December 21, 2015 had revoked the decision of the Chitwan District Court and Hetauda Appellate Court to release the accused (Poudel) on bail.

Adhikari, then 19, from Fujel VDC-7 of Gorkha, was allegedly abducted and murdered in Chitwan by former Maoist rebels charging him of spying for the state force. His father Nanda Prasad Adhikari died while on a hunger strike in September 2014.

Adhikari’s mother Ganga Maya Adhikari has been staging indefinite hunger strike since May 29 demanding to detain the murder accused of her son Krishna Prasad Adhikari as per the verdict of the Supreme Court.
