Nepal Medical Association (NMA) has decided to halt all medical services for one hour in the morning from Wednesday across all the hospitals in the country to express solidarity with Dr Govinda KC.

The NMA informed that following an intensive discussion they decided to halt medical services for an hour everyday in protest against the government’s apathy towards the demands put forth by Dr KC who has been staging an indefinite hunger strike for the past 11 days.

The association also warned of intensifying their protest that could lead to shutting down all services except emergency if the government fails to resolve the issue.

“Beginning from tomorrow (Wednesday) we will halt medical services and hold different protests from 10-11am,” said NMA Chairman Dr Muktiram Shrestha, “If the government fails to come up with a solution we will increase our protest time and eventually shut down all services except emergency services.”
