Jul 12, 2018-
The Supreme Court on Thursday issued an interim order directing the government not to revoke the appointments of two officials appointed by the erstwhile Sher Bahadur Deuba-led government.
The government, following a Cabinet meeting on July 4, had decided to revoke all the political appointments made by the Deuba-led government after August 30, 2017.
A single bench of SC justice Puroshottam Bhandari ordered the government not to revoke the appointments of Deposit and Credit Guarantee Fund Chief Executive Chairman Bishnubabu Mishra and Executive Chairman at Nepal Telecommunications Authority, Digambar Jha.
The apex court in its order has directed the concerned authorities not to implement the government decision to revoke the appointments until the hearing on Mishra and Jha’s appeal on July 18 and 19 respectively.
