Beyond my bubble

I was born and raised in Kathmandu. Over the years, I have been part of its transformation and of its growing urbanisation.
I have been part of its changes—from mushrooming youth hubs to expanding roads. And yet, Kathmandu never ceases to amaze me. It never ceases to reveal stories and teach lessons that I have never come across before.
Of late, I have realised that many of us born and raised in Kathmandu are privileged and we hardly ever stop to acknowledge this fact. Many of us, especially the urban youth, live in this bubble that protects us from the stories of hardship. We go on with our lives, oblivious. We go on with our lives, unaware of the multiple truths that surround us.
I am learning and unlearning many things. Of late, I have been getting out of the bubble to check my privileges.
In this series, I bring together photographs of the moments that have compelled me to stop and mull over who I am, where I am, and how little time I invest in soaking the reality that surrounds me every day.

Show time.
The foundation upon which we build our future.
Same road, different paths.
Dreams undeterred.
Go big or go home.
You reap what you sow, perhaps.
Highs and lows.
Life’s just a ride.
Childhood is a short season.
What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger.
