The body of senior social development officer at Pokhara Lekhnath Metropolitan, Omraj Poudel has been recovered at Seti River bank on Saturday, 21 days after he went missing. According to police, Poudel’s body was found lying on the bank of Seti River at Bhimad in Tahanun district. The body has been sent for post-mortem. Poudel had disappeared after he left home at 5am on June 23 leaving behind a note.
Police were searching him at Seti River banks suspecting he could have committed suicide. Poudel addressed his wife in the note. “Urmila, I am sorry for not being able to accompany you for the entire life, despite your immense love. I am leaving the three buds (children) in your care. Wish you four a good life, goodbye,” the note read. He had also left his two mobile phones, a golden chain and a ring.
Local Shanti Shrestha had informed the police that Poudel had jumped off Mahendra Bridge into the Seti river on the same day. ACCTV monitoring also showed Poudel reaching up to Seti River bridge.
