As per the agenda of the House, Minister for Education, Science and Technology Giriraj Mani Pokharel will present the bill today.
The bill was in the agenda of Monday’s meeting too. But the parliament meeting postponed by passing the condolence motion on the demise of former lawmaker Mohammad Mustaq Alam.
Presentation of the bill without changes will be disregard to the demands of Dr Govinda KC, who has been staging fast-unto-death in Jumla for the last two weeks. KC has demanded a medical education law in line with the recommendations of a task force led by Kedar Bhakta Mathema, former vice-chancellor at Tribhuvan University. But the government has presented the bill omitting a number of recommendations of the Mathema panel.
