Locals of Gobargada in Hanuman Nagar Kankalini Municipality-13, Saptari district whose settlements were inundated owing to recent flooding have been forced to survive in unlivable conditions for the past six days.

The locals vented their ire against the government as the concerned authorities have not taken any action to rescue the flood affected.

The flooding that occurred at two of the tributaries of Koshi River entered the settlements and now the residents are living above the flowing water inside their houses. Some of the locals have taken shelter at the local school, however, there is still a risk that the flood waters could enter inside the school.

Meanwhile, children have started to fall ill and there is acute shortage of food and water.

With the flooding, now it takes some four-hours on a boat to reach Gobargada from Hanuman Nagar.
