At a time when the NC has been facing criticisms for not playing an effective role as the main opposition, an office bearers meeting of the NC held at the party’s central office at Sanepa on Tuesday morning has announced protest programmes beginning from July 19.
The NC has been obstructing House proceedings for the past few days demanding the government save the life of Dr Govinda KC, who has been stating hunger strike since June 30 in Jumla. The party has also demanded the government table the National Medical Education Bill without amendment in the Parliament at the earliest.
The party has decided to take to the street focusing on the same issue. The NC has also claimed that the government is moving ahead in a unilateral manner.
The party has decided to obstruct proceedings at federal parliament and province assemblies of all the seven provinces on July 19.
The NC has also decided to organise a rally under the leadership of Professors’ Association and Nepal Doctors’ Association on the same day.
The party has decided to stage a demonstration in the Capital under the leadership of Tarun Dal, the youth wing of the NC, on July 21.
The party has decided to hold an interaction on the government activities to mark the occasion of BP Day on Sunday and to stage demonstration in Bhaktapur, Lalitpur and Kathmandu under the NC leadership on July 24 and organise a joint demonstration in all the headquarters of 77 districts on July 31.
