Initiated by the Gallery, the project “aims to bring out the untapped therapeutic value of visual art in a hospital setting and provide psychological relief to patients, parents, hospital staff and the general public.”
The project was implemented at Kanti Children’s Hospital; as part of the project, the mentors engaged the young artists and child cancer patients with art-based therapy workshops. The workshop entailed leading the artists through various practices of art making and in the process the artists produced murals and installation artworks made by recycling hospital wastages.
The workshop team includes noted artists Kiran Maharjan, Shraddha Shrestha, Mekh Limbu, Ang Tsering Sherpa, Anoj Subedi and Raju Giri, among others. Alongside the artworks, the exhibition will also have on display the moments and process captured during the project.
The exhibit will start on July 22 and will continue until August 17.
