At a meeting of House of Representatives (HoR) in Kathmandu on Friday, the opposition lawmakers demanded the government take action against Prasai after Health Minister Giriraj Mani Pokharel informed the parliament about the agreement signed between the government and Dr Govinda KC on Thursday night.
In a video widely circulated in the social media, Prasai had said that female Nepali students in Bangladesh were forced to sleep with their professors to get medical degrees.
“What kind of legal action the government will take against Prasai for his objectionable remarks about female Nepali students studying in Bangladesh?” NC lawmaker Pushpa Bhusal questioned. NC lawmaker Dila Sangraula said Prasai’s remarks have offended 51 percent of women and demanded the government bring him to justice.
Another Congress lawmaker Laxmi Pariyar objected the government’s move to let Prasai off the hook while a Minister has resigned for his remarks about the Nepali medical students in Bangladesh.
