Visiting Chinese Deputy Minister meets with Dahal and Deuba

Vice Minister of International Department of the Communist Party of China Wang Yajun on Monday held separate meetings with Co-Chair of Nepal Communist Party Pushpa Kamal Dahal and Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba at their respective residences.
During the both meetings, the senior officials discussed matters related to strengthening Nepal-China ties, China’s co-operation and contribution to Nepal’s economic prosperity among others.
The visiting Chinese delegation extended invitations to both Dahal and Deuba to visit China.
According to the Dahal’s secretariat, he shared that the alliance forged among the communist parties in Nepal had kindled the hope among people for good. He said that China’s rapid economic growth was a source of inspiration for Nepal.
Dahal, stating that the Chinese Government, Chinese Communist Party and people have always supported Nepal’s economic development, anticipated further co-operation from China in coming days.
He also reaffirmed Nepal’s commitment to One-China policy. Furthermore, recalling his China visit during his premiership twice Dahal expressed, “I had raised the issue of connectivity between Nepal and China during my first visit to China as the Prime Minister. It brings me immense joy to see that connectivity vision is being translated into action.” On the occasion, Deputy Minister Wang conveyed Chinese President Xi Jinping’s warm greetings to Dahal.
The visiting Deputy Minister also thanked Dahal for the political stability maintained in Nepal following the alliance forged among the big communist parties.
Reaffirming Chinese government’s willingness to support Nepal and Nepali people for their progress and prosperity, he commented that a favourable environment had been enabled in Nepal for implementing the ‘One Belt One Road (OBOR)’ project.
Similarly, during the meeting with Deuba, the Chinese visiting delegation discussed various projects undertaking by the Chinese government including road, water resources, agriculture, and tourism among others and wants to invest more projects in Nepal.
On the behalf of Chinese Premier Li Keqiang, the visiting delegation extended the invitation to Deuba to visit China, according to the NC party Chief Secretary, Krishna Poudel.
