NAC’s A330 to make maiden flight today

The 274-seater jet named Annapurna received approval for commercial flights by the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (Caan) on Sunday, 32 days after taking delivery of the aircraft. The national flag carrier has also unveiled promotional offers. A one-way ticket for Kathmandu-Doha sector is Rs11,000, while a two-way ticket will cost Rs18,000, exclusive of taxes.
The offer also includes a discount in the baggage fees, which are provided for upto 55 kg in the business class and 45 kg in the economic class. Rabindra Shrestha, spokesperson of NAC, said they would be regularly operating the new jet in the sector particularly where demand is expected to be high. The first A330 named Annapurna, fresh off the assembly line and bearing NAC livery, landed at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) on June 28. The second jet named Makalu arrived on July 26.
