Landslide displaces 7 families; 84 houses at risk
At least seven families have been displaced due to a landslide triggered by incessant rainfall in Nuwakot on Wednesday night. The houses belonging to Bir Bahadur Tamang, Hari Bahadur Tamang and Sambar Tamang were buried in landside that occurred at Tadi Rural Municipality-5 on Wednesday.
Similarly, the landslide swept away the houses of Makar Jung Tamang Shyam Bahadur Tamang at Diyalo in Shivapuri-3.
The houses of Ram Bahadur Tamang and Thuli Tamang suffered cracks.
In a separate incident, four persons were injured when a landside buried a house at Chogate in Suryagadhi-3 on Thursday.
It has been learnt that the houses of Ram Bahadur Kasahi and Masina Khadgi of Bidur-2 sustained damages after the flood water gushed into their houses.
The problem of landslide has increased after the devastating earthquake of 2015.
Chief District Office Uddhav Bahadur Thapa said, “The landslide occurred after the water entered into the gaps created by the earthquake.”
He said that 84 houses of Dupcheshwor, Shivapuri, Suryagadhi, Tadi, Kispang, Meghang Rural Municipalities and Belkotgadhi and Bidur Municipalities are at high risk of landslide.
