Talking to the media upon his return from a weeklong visit to Portugal, Luxemburg and Belgium on Thursday, Minister Gyawali said the European nations were interested in Nepal’s energy, infrastructure and agriculture sectors.
Minister Gyawali said he had urged European leaders to allow Nepali goods in the European markets. The European leaders put forth their concerns about Nepal government’s economic policy, investment environment and inclusion constitution.
“Nepal is willing to benefit much from the economies of India and China. I found their concerns about Nepal’s steps to move ahead by maintaining geopolitical balance and economic partnership,” he said.
He said he had also called on the European leaders to resolve the issues to allow Nepal to resume its air services to Europe at the earliest. Nepal signed an agreement with Portugal to form a consultative mechanism to strengthen the bilateral relations and identify the areas of cooperation. He also held talks with his counterparts from Belgium and Luxembourg on investment promotion and trade expansion, Gyawali told reporters.
