Metropolitan Police Crime Division (MPCD) has detained Nur Prasad Adhikari, one of the petitioners in the Krishna Prasad Adhikari murder case, from the Capital on Sunday.

Nur Prasad went out of contact soon after the demise of his father Nanda Prasad Adhikari on September 22, 2014 while on a hunger-strike demanding action against the accused of the crime.

Nur Prasad’s detainment comes at a time when a hearing on the Krishna Prasad murder-case is underway at the Chitwan District Court.

MPCD SSP Dhiraj Pratap Singh informed that they detained Nur Prasad upon the request of his mother Ganga Maya Adhikari. “We have detained Nur Prasad after his mother (Ganga Maya) urged us to find her son,” said SSP Singh, “We will hand over Nur Prasad to his mother who is receiving treatment at Bir Hospital.”

Krishna Prasad, then 19, from Fujel VDC-7 of Gorkha, was allegedly abducted and murdered in Chitwan by former Maoist rebels charging him of spying for the state force. Nur Prasad and Nanda Prasad had filed a complaint at the Chitwan Police Office regarding the incident.

A charge-sheet seeking life imprisonment with confiscation of entire property was filed by the district government attorney, on March 30, 2014, against 13 individuals involved in the murder of Krishna Prasad at the Chitwan District Court
