A man has been arrested on the charge of raping his 17-year-old daughter at Aathrai Tribeni Rural Municipality in Taplejung.

The 40-year-old man was arrested on the basis of a complaint filed by his daughter, DSP Gyanendra Bahadur Basnet said.

A police team deployed from the Area Police Office, Dobhan, arrested the man and filed a rape case against him, Basnet said.

In the complaint, the victim said that her father, who married another woman after the demise of her mother, used to rape her time and again.

The victim claimed that she was raped for the first time on July 21. She further claimed that she was raped for the second time when her step mother had gone to her parental home.

The victim said that she couldn’t share her ordeal to any one due to the fear of social stigma.
