According to DSP DipendraSah of the Area Police Office, Mirchiya, a group of four men riding on two motorbikes robbed Rajaram Sah, operator of Rajaram Money Transfer at Kalyanpur Municipality-11, Siraha, of the cash at Mirchiya-Kalyanpur road section in Tingachiya this afternoon.
DSP DipendraSah said the incident occurred while Rajaram was heading towards Kalyanpur on his motorbike carrying Rs 2.56 million which he had withdrawn from the Mirchiya-based Global IME Bank.
Earlier on June 25, DhanBirYadav, an employee of the Shivam Money Transfer, was robbed of Rs 1.2 million in the same place.
Yadav was also robbed by a group of four persons riding on two bikes by showing a pistol. He was also robbed while he was coming out of the Mirchiya-based Global IME bank after withdrawing the money.
Traders of Kalyanpur area have expressed dissatisfaction as the police have not been able to nab the looters even after one-and-a-half month since the incident.
Locals have been terrified as the second incident of robbery has been taken place in the same place.
“One-and-a-half month has already been passed, but police have been saying that they are investigating into the case. The robbers have not been arrested yet,” said Sunil Kumar Rawat, owner of the Kalyanpur 11-based Shivam Money Transfer and a member of the Mirchiya Chamber of Commerce.
“I think this kind of incident could not have repeated again had the police managed to arrest the looters at that time,” he said.
The incident site is five kilometers away from the Area Police Office, Mirchiya.
