NA team defuses suspicious object in Bharatpur

According to District Police Office, Chitwan DSP Prabhu Prasad Dhakal, the object placed during the banda called by Netra Bikram Chand-led Communist Party of Nepal (CPN) today was not an improvised explosive device and the object might have been placed to spread fear.
Locals had informed the police that two people on a motorcycle had placed the object in the middle of the road at around 9:30 am this morning. “Two tin cans wrapped with adhesive tape and wires were placed in the middle of the road along with a CPN flag,” said DSP Dkahal, “A NA team neutralised the threat but there were no explosives.”
DSP Dhakal further informed that 12 people have been arrested and investigation is underway to determine if the arrestees are affiliated to banda enforces or not.
