Strike enforced by Chand-led party passes off peacefully; IEDs defused at various places

Though improvised explosives devices (IEDs) and suspicious objects were found in some places, markets and government offices remained open and functioned normally and vehicular movement continued without obstruction.
Security forces defused two IEDs in Bhaktapur district early in the morning.
A suspicious object was defused at Chandrapur Municipality-5 in Rautahat district. It was found on the side of the East West Highway near a traffic post.
Suspicious object was also found at the gate of Badimalika Municipality building in Bajura district headquarters, Martadi. The municipality building is adjacent to District Administration Office. Nepal Army bomb disposal squad disposed the the object.
Vehicles vandalised in Nawalpur, Hetauda
An unidentified group set fire on two parked trucks (Na 2 Kha 2548 and Na 2 Kha 8487) near Ratna Petrol Pump along the East West Highway at Gaidakot in Nawalpur early Tuesday morning.
Police said four people set ablaze the truck carrying hay at around 1 am and fled. A police team that reached the scene a few minutes later took the truck to the nearby Narayani River and doused the fire with the help from a fire engine.
In a separate incident, another unknown gang also vandalised a bus at Tustung Deurali in Hetauda. Locals said the gang stopped the bus and set it on fire at Taha Municipality-11. The bus was heading to Kathmandu.
