The government has reappointed Sushil Gyawali as the Chief Executive Officer of the National Reconstruction Authority.

A Cabinet meeting held on Tuesday decided to reappoint Gyawali to the position. Gyawali was the head of the NRA during the earlier tenure of Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli.

Following the change in government under Sher Bahadur Deuba, Govinda Pokharel was appointed in place of Gyawali. However, Pokharel resigned from the post to take part in the elections prompting the Deuba-government to appoint former secretary Yubaraj Bhusal in his place.

After the formation of new government under KP Sharma Oli following the elections, the incumbent government decided to annul all political appointments made by the Duba-government. Hence, the post of the authority’s CEO was vacant.
