Revenue collection in Rasuwa district has been adversely affected due to the obstructed roads caused by rainfall-induced landslides since July 27.

According to the local administration, efforts are underway to resume traffic on the obstructed road that has disrupted the import and export of construction materials as well as entry of tourists.

Krishna Poudel, chief district officer of Rasuwa, said that the Kaliprasad Engineering Battalion of Nepal Army has already approached the Ministry of Home Affairs to mobilise Nepal Army in clearing the debris off the road and reconstruct the obstructed road to resume traffic.

Two places surrounding Trishuli River at Dhunche-Bharkhu and Rasuwagadhi have been hit by landslides.

Ekata Trade Association said that goods imported from China in view of the upcoming Teej festival were stuck near the border checkpoint.

The godowns at the checkpoint are overloaded with imported goods and are bound to run short of space very soon, according to Musa Transport, the biggest transportation company in Kerung, China, that imports China-made products to Nepal.

Chief Revenue Officer Gopal Koirala said that the revenue collection amounting over Rs 489 million has been affected due to the obstructed road.

Association Chair Tapindra Prasad Timilsina said that the authorities concerned have been urged resumed the traffic on the road at the earliest, adding that goods worth billions of rupees were stuck.
