The District Administration Office, Kanchanpur reimposed curfew in Bhimdutta Municipality-4 and 18 of Kanchanpur district from 10am on Sunday.

The curfew clamped in Kanchanpur since Friday night was lifted for five hours from 5:00 am to 10 am this morning.

A curfew order had been imposed for an indefinite period from 8:00 pm on Friday as the violence showed no sign of abating with the agitating locals continuing demonstration demanding action against those involved in the rape and murder of 13-year-old Nimala Panta of Kholti in Bhimdutta municipality-2. A 14-year-old boy was killed and scores injured in the clash between police and the demonstrators.

Locals are now busy buying daily essentials as well as goods to celebrate the Hindu festival of Rakshya Bandhan.
