Rautahat boat capsize: Body of missing child found in India

Indian security officials found the body of Ushma Patel this afternoon.
Rautahat Chief District Officer Govinda Prasad Rijal said that two persons are still missing.
Police said 24 people, including five women, survived the accident by swimming ashore and have come in contact with the local administration.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister of Province 2 Mohammad Lal Babu Raut said the provincial government has decided to provide Rs 200,000 in compensation to the families of the victims. He has also provided Rs 25,000 each to the families of the victims for death and mourning rituals.
Minister Raut had reached the incident site on Sunday morning. He said that he would soon meet Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli and complain about the delay in the construction of the bridge over the Lalbakaiya stream.
Locals of Tikuliya and Gaur had handed over a memorandum to the District Administration Office, Rautahat, to take action against Pappu Construction. The Pappu Construction Company was awarded the contract to construct the bridge.
There is no bridge close to the area. A bridge project that began years ago remains unfinished.
Authorities suspect that several people are still missing and feared dead after the boat capsized in the rain-swollen Lalbakaiya stream at Tikuliyaghat area on Saturday evening.
