The 13th edition of Nepal Automobile Dealers Association (NADA) Auto Show 2018, Nepal’s biggest automobile exhibition, is scheduled to begin from September 11 at Bhrikutimandap Exhibition Hall in Kathmandu. The 13th edition of Nepal Automobile Dealers Association (NADA) Auto Show 2018, Nepal’s biggest automobile exhibition, is scheduled to begin from September 11 at Bhrikutimandap Exhibition Hall in Kathmandu.
The six-day expo, jointly organised by NADA and Global Exposition and Management Services, will showcase the latest four-wheeler and two-wheeler models in Nepal under a single roof.
According to the organiser, the NADA Auto Show 2018 will showcase 19 four-wheeler brands and 20 brands from the two-wheeler sector. The exhibition will also house stalls of spare parts, tyres, lubricants, garage equipments, battery and other auto accessories.
Likewise, there will be around 135 small and big stalls and blocks. More than 70 importers, dealers, distributors and manufacturers from the automobile sector will be participating in the event.
However, the auto show will not bring any heavy commercial vehicles this year due to space constraint.
Krishna Prasad Dulal, acting president of NADA, said that the demand for electric vehicles (EVs) has been increasing but the country lacks proper infrastructure.
He said that the government needs to install charging stations at different places to promote EVs. “The increased tax in different automobile categories imposed by the government has created burden for dealers as well as customers,” he said.
NADA Auto Show 2018 has allocated separate sections for two wheelers, four wheelers and auto components. “This arrangement will benefit exhibiting companies as customers can simply visit the section that interests them,” said the organiser.
There will also be a separate platform for new launches. The exhibition will have cafeteria, media desk and traffic police desk. For better management, help desks will be set-up at different places in the exhibition premises. The 12th edition of NADA 2017 showcased 19 brands from the two wheelers segment and 18 brands from the four wheelers segment. Last year’s exhibition made a total transaction of Rs3 billion. This year, the organiser is expecting transactions worth Rs5 billion.
The exhibition is expected to draw around 60, 000 visitors. The ticket price for the auto show has been fixed at Rs200, while students will be charged Rs150.
Similarly, one lucky visitor will get a chance to win the daily door prize of Coolpad Mega 2.5D every day this year, the organiser said.
NADA Auto Show 2018 is not only a platform for buyers and sellers. “It will be a genuine stage for information exchange, market analysis and presentation of the progress of entire automobile sector in Nepal,” the organiser said in a press statement.
