‘Erring Ministers will be punished’
Nepal Communist Party (NCP) Co-chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal claimed that his three-day visit to India had been successful.Nepal Communist Party (NCP) Co-chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal claimed that his three-day visit to India had been successful.
Upon arrival at the Tribhuvan International Airport on Sunday, Dahal said he got the rare opportunity to hold talks with the top officials of India. “I met with Indian Prime Minister Modi and discussed various issues in detail, including the dimensions of Nepal-India relations. This meeting has floated a good message,” said Dahal, adding that he had also held talks on promoting trade, decreasing trade deficit and resolving problems at the border.
The former prime minister also said the government could come up with a supplementary budget as the KP Sharma Oli-led government failed to hike the existing allowances for the senior citizens in its budget.
On the talks of a possible Cabinet reshuffle, Dahal agreed with PM Oli that there would be no changes in the government. He, however, warned that the erring ministers would be punished. NCP leaders, including Bamdev Gautam, Bishnu Poudel, Narayan Kaji Shrestha, Subas Nembang and Dev Gurung were present at the TIA to receive Dahal.
