PHC unanimously endorses Ghimire as CIAA chief
The Parliamentary Hearing Committee (PHC) on Thursday unanimously endorsed Nabin Kumar Ghimire as the Chief Commissioner of the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA).The Parliamentary Hearing Committee (PHC) on Thursday unanimously endorsed Nabin Kumar Ghimire as the Chief Commissioner of the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA).
The Constitutional Council, following a meeting at the Prime Minister’s office on September 5, had recommended Ghimire, a former Secretary at the Home Ministry, to the top post of constitutional the anti-graft body.
Following the endorsement, Ghimire, who was the acting chief commissioner of the commission, will be appointed Chief Commissioner of the CIAA by President.
Ghimire was appointed commissioner at the CIAA four years ago after retiring as the Secretary at the Home Ministry.
The post of Chief Commissioner was vacant following the retirement of erstwhile CIAA Chief Deep Basnyat due to age.
