A team from Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) mid-regional office, Hetauda, arrested two employees of Birgunj Metropolitan City for taking bribe from a service seeker on Thursday.

According to the CIAA, Manjur Alam and Shashi Bhusan Sah, employees at BMC’s education department, were arrested for seeking bribe amounting to Rs 100,000 from Iqbal Haider, owner of BMC-14-based Furkaun International Academy, for issuing lisence to the boarding school.

Sah had sent his nephew, Arun Sah, to collect the bribe money but the CIAA team intervened and arrested the latter. Upon his arrest, Arun gave up the names of Alam and Shashi Bhusan to the CIAA officials leading to their arrest.

As per a source, the arrested duo had, earlier, demanded Rs 500,000 from Haider, but later they agreed on Rs 100,000 after renegotiating the amount.
