During his stay in China, Vice President Pun delivered keynote speeches at the opening ceremony of the 17th Western China International Fair and the Belt and Road Cooperation Development Conference on Business Community of Shared Future organised on the theme “Sharing , Making Progress Together” in Chengdu, Sichuan Province, on September 20.
In both addresses, the Vice President requested Chinese and other foreign investors to invest in Nepal in the areas of energy, physical infrastructure, agriculture and tourism industry, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
He also requested the Chinese travel tour operators/entrepreneurs to make the Visit Nepal Year 2020 a success.
Vice President Pun also met with Vice Premier of China Hu Chunhua, Secretary of the China Communist Party in Sichuan Province Peng Qinghua, and other part leaders during his stay in China.
Various aspects of Nepal-China relations, including the exchange of high-level visits, implementation of agreements and understandings reached with China, cross-border connectivity, cultural exchanges, people-to-people relations, promotion of investment and tourism were discussed in these meetings, the ministry said.
The Vice President also visited to the site of Post-Disaster Reconstruction and places of historical, cultural, agricultural, educational and commercial importance in the Sichuan Province, including Jiulong Community at Dujiangyan, Sichuan University of Science and Engineering, Yibin Port, Bamboo Forest (Sea), Museum of Modern Chinese Architecture and Medicine School of Tongji University.
