Biratnagar will be capital of Province 1, claims Minister Pandit

Speaking at a programme organised by Morang Chamber of Industries and Morang Merchant Association in Morang on Tuesday, he said that no one should be worried over the discussions of province lawmakers regarding the province capital.
“Province lawmakers have spoken out about the alternative of Biratnagar to decoy the voters. Talking and taking decision are two different things,” he said, adding, “I don’t think that the decision will be made against Biratnagar.”
Province capital will be fixed with a long term plan and various offices and planning and projects would play a vital role, he said.
Saying that he would also play an instrumental role to make Biratnagar as the capital of Province 1, Minister Pandit called on traders, intellectuals and civil society to help him in his plan to make Biratnagar the capital of Province 1.
Minister Pandit said that he brought a proposal of constructing a two-lane road from Pushpalal-Gachiya road section to Namuwa-Jogbani road section to resolve the problem of traffic snarl of Biratnagar to make convenient capital of the province.
Saying that the process of announcing a tender for constructing the road has already been taken ahead by completing the survey works, he said that the construction of the road will start soon.
He also said that the plan to construct province level industrial exhibition centre and view tower will also start at the earliest.
