Flick film awards 2018 concludes
Khaacho, a film by Meetho Kampan, has won first place at the 2018 Flick Awards.Khaacho, a film by Meetho Kampan, has won first place at the 2018 Flick Awards. The awards, an initiatve by the Panchakanya Group, required submissions to revolve around one of four themes—strength, resilience, reconstruction and development—while also requiring filmmakers to feature a Panchakanya product within the work. The first place prize comes with a purse of Rs 100,000.
Shortlisted works included 2D Animations, TV commercials as well as socially oriented films. The films were judged by vlogger and filmmaker Sisan Baniya, actor and TV show host Raymon Das Shrestha, and film director Asif Shah.
Ronish Raut’s Naya Ghar won second prize while awards for best cinematography and best concept adaptation went to Akhir Kaile Samma by Pritam Chhetri and The Soul of Kathmandu by Bijay Subedi, respectively.
Although conceived to promote their brand, Panchakanya Group said that the awards also provided young filmmakers from disparate parts of the country with much needed exposure and new commercial prospects.
