Inspector General of Nepal Police (IGP) Sarbendra Khanal has said the police personnel who tarnish the image of police organisation will be booted out immediately.

“We have started taking action, now this campaign will not be stopped under any circumstances,” he said, adding, “Stern action will be taken against those indulged in tarnishing the image of police organisation.”
Saying that if the police personnel have connection with contractors and agents, he said that it would be better for police personnel to quit their job and work with them.
“It will be better to quit the job if any police personnel want to go abroad, work as agents and get involved in smuggling,” IGP Khanal said.
He also urged the police personnel to be honest with the police organisation.
Earlier, student wings of the ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) had demanded the dismissal of Inspector General of Police (IGP) SarbendraKhanal over Nepal Police’s lackadaisical approach and failure to arrest the culprits involved in rape of murder of 13-year-old Nirmala Pant in Kanchanpur.
Accusing him of being an incompetent leader in the investigations of Nirmala’s case as well as other criminal cases, the student unions had demanded an immediate removal of Khanal.
