Twelve Asian labour source countries on Friday issued a 27-point Kathmandu Declaration to work together for protecting and providing rights to migrant workers.
A 5th Senior Officials Meeting of the Colombo Process held in Kathmandu issued the 27-point Declaration.
The meeting has decided to cooperate in various issues like rescuing stranded workers, recognising skills and qualifications, fostering ethical recruitment and providing orientation programme to workers. It has also decided to work together to lower money transfer costs.
