Anjan Shakya named Nepal’s ambassador to Israel
The government has appointed Anjan Shakya as the new Nepali Ambassador to Israel. Shakya’s appointement was decided by the Cabinet meeting on November 11. The meeting also decided to recall Amrit Rai, the country’s ambassador to South Africa, besides appointing Nilambar Acharya as the Nepali Ambassador to India.
Acharya will also serve as a non-resident ambassador to Afghanistan and Bhutan.
The Cabinet meeting also decided to transfer the ownership of around 71 ropanis of land belonging to late King Birendra Shah and his family members to the name of Nepal Trust, provide Rs 1 million as compensation to the family of slain Nepali Congress cadre Ram Bilash Mahato and bring the Poverty Alleviation Fund under the scope of the Ministry of Land Reforms, Cooperation and Poverty Alleviation.
