RPP leaders appeal for solidarity
Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) leaders have appealed for solidarity among leaders of the three pro-Hindu parties for their swift unification.Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) leaders have appealed for solidarity among leaders of the three pro-Hindu parties for their swift unification.
In a statement on Sunday, 19 leaders of the Kamal Thapa-led RPP have said the country has realised the need for an alternative democratic and nationalist force which can only be fulfilled through a unified, strong and democratic RPP.
“Everyone is familiar with the RPP’s unrelenting faith in constitutional monarchy, Sanatan Hindu Religion, national unity and integrity. And this belief can be the binding force for all three RPP and other people, forces and groups sharing that ideology,” read the statement.
Talking to the Post over telephone, RPP leader and former minister Dilnath Giri said the unification bid should not be derailed under any pretexts.
“It is an attempt to unite breakaway factions that split from the single party at different times,” said Giri.
The party can only establish its values and ideologies through unification of forces with similar political views, the statement read. The party leaders also expressed sadness over the news reports that the party’s unification attempts had gone waste.
