The government has decided to operate vehicles according to the odd and even number plate system during the Asia pacific Summit to be held in Kathmandu on November 30 to December 3.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, the Metropolitan Traffic Police Division said that the odd and even number plate system will come into effect from November 29.
The government has decided to bring in this system to facilitate the movement of guests taking part in the summit.
According to the statement, odd number plate vehicles will be allowed to ply the road on November 29 and December 1 while even number plate vehicles will be allowed to ply the road on November 30 and December 2.
However, the odd and even number plate system will not be applicable to emergency service vehicles.
