Oli meets ex-PM of Pakistan, ex-Presidents of Colombia and Palau

Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli on Sunday held separate meetings with the leaders who came to Kathmandu to attend the Asia Pacific Summit 2018.
Former Prime Minister of Pakistan Yousaf Gilani and former President of Colombia Andres Pastrana and former president of Palau Johnson Toribiong met PM Oli today.
According to PM’s press coordinator Chetan Adhikari, the trio discussed Nepal’s peace process and the plans of the government to make the country prosperous during the meetings.
In his meeting with Pakistan’s former Prime Minister Yousaf Gilani, PM Oli underscored the need to make SAARC effective. PM Oli said that Nepal is in a hurry to handover the leadership of SAARC.
Nepal wants to handover the SAARC leadership by holding the conference as soon as possible, PM Oli said while reiterating his commitment over the regional body. “We will always try to make SAARC effective,” he added.
Meanwhile, Gilani praised Nepal’s effort in bringing stability in the country.
Similarly, Colombia’s former President Andres Pastrana said that his country has been impressed by Nepal’s successful peace process.
Saying that the major works of peace process has been completed, PM Oli said that the remaining works will be completed soon.
Recalling that Nepal has a long diplomatic relations with Colombia, PM Oli said the relations should be strengthened further through trade and commerce.
Likewise, PM Oli discussed contemporary political issues of Nepal with Johnson Toribiong.
The foreign leaders arrived in Nepal to attend the four-day Asia Pacific summit that formally kicked off in Kathmandu on Saturday.
