Priyanshu Rajawat clinched the men’s singles title with a 16-21, 21-16, 21-17 win over Ranthushka Sasindu of Sri Lank in the final. Nabin Shrestha and Sunil Joshi of Nepal finished joint third.
Another Indian shuttler Malvika Bansod beat compatriot Purva Barve 21-12, 21-8 in the final to win the women’s singles crown. Fathimath Nabaaha of Maldives and Hasini Ambalangodge of Sri Lanka ended up as joint bronze winners.
The hosts came close to deny India a clean sweep when Nabin Shrestha and Prince Dahal teamed up to challenge Vishnuvardana Goud Panjala and Dhruv Rawat in the men’s doubles final but were eventual outplayed 21-16, 17-21, 21-17.
Indian duo Purva Barva and Tanisha Crasto eased to a 21-14, 21-18 win over Aminath Babeeha and Fathima Nabaaha of Maldives to claim the women’s double championship. Nepali pair Jessica Gurung and Sunayna Mukhiya along with Bangladeshi duo Rashmi Akter and Urmi Akter finished joint third.
In the mixed doubles final, Tanisha Crasto and Vishuvardhana Goud hammered Rathuska Sasindu and Dilmi Dais of Sri Lanka 21-10, 21-16. Rasila Maharjan and Praful Maharjan of Nepal ended up sharing bronze medal with Farbin Binte Emdad Hridita and Syed Saker Mohammad Sibgat Ullah of Bangladesh. India came into the final day of the meet having already secured the team event championship.
