A Central Working Committee (CWC) meeting of the Nepali Congress ended inconclusively on Wednesday after leaders demanded that the posts of party office bearers should be made inclusive.

In the meeting, central members Man Bahadur Bishwokarma, Farmullah Mansur and Bir Bahadur Balayar among other leaders said that they would not agree on the decision of three leaders until the office bearers are made inclusive.

The meeting ended without making any concrete decision after it became noisy.

“The party has been squeezed in Madhes, Tharus are also disenchanted towards the party, and the party’s influence has been decreasing among indigenous people. We demanded that 0the party office bearers should be inclusive to resolve these problems,” Mahendra Yadav said.

Earlier on Tuesday, party President Sher Bahadur Deuba, Ram Chandra Paudel and Krishna Prasad Sitaula had agreed to increase the number of officer bearers to eight and to hold the election of all the office bearers except treasurer from the General Convention.

Likewise, they had agreed to expand the Central Working Committee from the current 88 to 161 in new set up.

Leaders, who have been demanding inclusivity in the party office bearers committee, have also demanded that a provision should be made in such a way that the President can appoint one member each to the posts of general secretary, deputy general secretary and joint general secretary.

The Central Working Committee meeting held this morning was supposed to endorse the agreement of leaders before sending it to the Mahasamiti meeting.

As the agreement was not endorsed, the meeting of Central Working Committee has been summoned for this evening again.
