Ramechhap bus accident leaves one dead, 25 injured

A person died when a passenger bus met with an accident at Machhedaanda in Manthali-1 of Ramechhap district on Sunday. Twenty-five others were injured in the incident.
According to the police, the bus (Ba 4 Kha 4210), owned by Araniko Yatayat and en route to Kathmandu from Ghorakhori in the district, turned turtle while travelling uphill on gravelled narrow road section away from the black-topped main road.
As per the preliminary investigation, police suspect that the driver opted to take the vehicle uphill after the vehicle suffered a brake fail.
The injured have been taken to Tamakoshi Cooperative Hospital while the seriously injured have been referred to Kathmandu for further medical treatment.
District Police Office, Ramechhap, Inspector Ravi Bhushan Yadav informed that the police are yet to identify the deceased adding that they have detained the bus driver for further investigation into the matter.
