Superintendent of Police Govinda Thapaliya said the victims were attempting to pass the road from the sidewalk when they came in contact with the live wire. The road in Kuwarampur area is under construction now.

The locals claimed that the incident took place due to the utter negligence of the Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA). According to the locals, they had written an application to the NEA to fix the electricity wire but the authority paid no heed to the issue.

They demanded the government to take action against the guilty NEA officials and provide compensation to the victims’ families.
